Durga Puja Celebrations
Durga Puja is one of the most popular and colourful festivals celebrated by Hindus, especially in West Bengal and other parts of India. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga and celebrates her victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
The festival is celebrated with great joy, devotion, and enthusiasm. Beautifully decorated pandals, artistic idols of Goddess Durga, colourful lights, and traditional music create a festive atmosphere. People wear new clothes, visit pandals with family and friends, offer prayers, and enjoy delicious traditional foods. Cultural programmes, dance performances, and music add to the excitement of the celebrations.
Durga Puja also brings people together, spreading the message of unity, peace, and harmony. The festival ends with Vijaya Dashami, when the idols are immersed in water, marking the farewell to Goddess Durga until the next year.
Durga Puja is not just a religious festival; it is a celebration of culture, tradition, and togetherness that fills people’s hearts with happiness and hope.
