At the Living Arts Centre, October highlights include the GenX Takeover Comedy Tour on October 9, featuring a lineup of viral comedians and throwback humour. On October 22, She Carries the Song brings together Indigenous artists Celeigh Cardinal, Mimi O’Bonsawin and Lacey Hill for an evening of music and storytelling rooted in culture, community and lived experience. The month wraps up with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox on October 30, offering vintage-style interpretations of contemporary pop hits.
The Living Arts Centre is also hosting special series programming. REEL Thursdays, in partnership with TIFF Film Circuit, presents H Is for Hawk on October 8 as part of an eight-film series. On October 18, an Adaptive Concert featuring fortepianist Charlotte Tang offers an accessible, family-friendly musical experience featuring works by composers including Chopin, Schubert, Liszt and Beethoven.
Over at Meadowvale Theatre, jazz takes centre stage. On October 4, the B-Jazzed series presents the Andrew McAnsh Quartet featuring Johnathan Morin, combining contemporary jazz with improvisation in an afternoon performance.
And the entertainment calendar extends well beyond October. Upcoming events include a Día de los Muertos Drag Brunch on November 1, the 2027 Canadian National Skating Championships in January, the Bored Teachers comedy tour in January, and the Harlem Globetrotters Rivalry Tour in April.
With concerts, comedy, theatre, film and family-oriented programming on offer, Mississauga’s fall entertainment season provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy live events without travelling far from home.
