Fresh flavours, local finds and a vibrant summer tradition return to downtown Brampton
It’s Local Food Week in Ontario, a time to recognize the bounty of fresh and healthy foods grown, raised, produced and processed in communities across the province. It is also an opportunity to recognize the important role local farmers and food businesses play in strengthening the economy, supporting local jobs and feeding communities. Show your support for local farmers and food businesses by saving the date for the return of the Brampton Farmers’ Market for the 2026 season.

Starting Saturday, June 13, and running every week, rain or shine, until October 10, the market will transform downtown Brampton into a lively destination in the city’s core. This year, the market will operate from its new location along Main Street South from Queen Street to Wellington Street and Queen Street East from Main Street to Chapel Street.
Visitors can shop fresh produce, enjoy prepared foods and discover unique handcrafted goods. The market continues to play an important role in supporting local creators and small businesses, with many Brampton-based entrepreneurs getting their start at the Farmers’ Market and growing into successful businesses serving customers locally and internationally.
On the opening day of the market, enjoy a special opportunity to connect with some of Brampton’s literary talent through the launch of the 2026–27 Local Authors Showcase at Garden Square, presented by Brampton Library. Among eligible authors in Peel Region, this year’s cohort features 57 authors who have written 81 books, including 39 first-time participants and 45 Brampton-based writers. Residents and visitors will have an opportunity to meet local authors, shop their books and discover new stories, alongside the energy of the Farmers’ Market.

Supporting a vibrant Downtown destination
The Brampton Farmers’ Market plays an important role in bringing downtown Brampton to life, drawing people together in the city’s core and supporting local businesses. As major city-building projects, including Riverwalk and downtown streetscaping, continue to move forward, the market serves as an important gathering place, creating opportunities for connection, bringing residents and visitors together in the downtown and supporting local businesses. “The Brampton Farmers’ Market brings our community together in the heart of downtown every summer. It creates a space where residents and visitors connect, support local small businesses and experience the energy of our city, while also engaging directly with City teams and learning more about the work underway to revitalize downtown Brampton. I encourage everyone to come out, explore the market and be part of the momentum in our downtown.”
