Sharon, Lois & Bram’s Candles, Snow & Mistletoe Returns to Toronto for One-Night-Only Holiday Screening – Sunday, November 16, from 4 to 7 PM at The Redwood Theatre
Toronto families can rediscover the warmth and wonder of the holidays Sharon, Lois & Bram’s timeless television musical Candles, Snow & Mistletoe, screening Sunday, November 16, from 4 to 7 PM at The Redwood Theatre. This one-day-only film event celebrates the re-release of the classic album on streaming platforms and the launch of the group’s new Shopify store, offering families a fresh way to connect with Canada’s most iconic family entertainers.
Originally produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video (Saturday Night Live), Emmy Award-winning composer Glen Roven, and Emmy Award-winning writer Mark Saltzman (Sesame Street), Candles, Snow & Mistletoe blends Sharon, Lois & Bram’s trademark humour, warmth, and harmony. The film tells a whimsical story about a train ride home for the holidays and has become a seasonal tradition for generations, a joyful celebration of family, friendship, and song.
“Many people from many cultures filled this holiday album with their joyful sound and generous hearts,” the trio shared when the album was first released. “For this time of making music together, we were a family, and from our family to yours, we offer music for the season and wishes for peace and goodwill all year round.”
More than 30 years later, that spirit continues to shine through Sharon Hampson and her daughter Randi, who now carry the Sharon, Lois & Bram legacy forward. Together, they are bringing the trio’s beloved music to new generations while staying true to the warmth and togetherness that defined the group.
“This special holds such a meaningful place in my heart,” says Sharon Hampson. “When we first created Candles, Snow & Mistletoe, we wanted it to feel like an invitation for everyone to come together, no matter what holiday they celebrated, and share in the spirit of joy and connection. I have met so many people who grew up watching it with their families, and now they are bringing their own kids and grandkids to experience it. That is the real magic for me, seeing how the music continues to bring generations together and spark the same smiles, laughter, and memories that it always has.”
The November 16 event is a screening of the original television special, not a live concert, and will feature a short singalong, a special guest panel, photo opportunities, holiday merchandise, and a cash bar. Sharon & Bram will be in attendance. Screening will start at 4:30 PM. For those who cannot attend in person, the special will also stream on Sharon, Lois & Bram’s YouTube channel, inviting families around the world to celebrate together.
A new music video for “Bells Medley” will debut on November 1, setting the tone for the season ahead. The group’s Shopify store will launch on November 16, offering exclusive retro-inspired items timed with the press announcement.
First released in 1993, Candles, Snow & Mistletoe was praised as “a Canadian classic” (Toronto Sun) and “one of the most colourful, eclectic holiday family albums… a multicultural tour de force” (Billboard). The album remains a timeless celebration of togetherness. It bridges Christmas and Chanukah traditions with Sharon, Lois & Bram’s signature warmth and wit. Its joyful blend of songs like We Need a Little Christmas, I’ll Be Home with Bells On, and Candles Long Ago still feels ahead of its time. The music continues to bring generations together.
Families of all ages can revisit their childhoods and share the joy of Skinnamarink with the next generation during this one-night celebration in Toronto. The Candles, Snow & Mistletoe album is released under Elephant Records Inc. / Red Brick Songs, with all 18 tracks available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms beginning this month.
