Kannada ZEE5 to Premiere Shodha – A Suspense Thriller Streaming from August 29

Kannada ZEE5 is all set to stream its latest original web series Shodha from August 29. Helmed by director Sunil Mysuru and produced by KRG Studios, the six-episode psychological crime thriller stars Pawan Kumar, Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar, and Anusha Ranganath in key roles. The series follows Rohit (Pawan Kumar), a sharp but morally grey lawyer, whose life turns upside down when he fails to recognize his own wife.

Speaking at the press meet in Bengaluru, Kannada ZEE5, Business Head, Deepak Sriramulu, said: “Earlier ZEE5 was one single OTT platform, but now we’ve started a language-specific OTT space – and that’s how Kannada ZEE5 began. We first experimented with mini-series and micro-series through the Bullet app. Our first original series Ayyana Mane got a great response That success has brought us to Shodha. With this step, we’ve also begun collaborating with production houses like KRG Studios, PRK Productions, and Tarun Sudhir Productions. Shodha is a special project – it shows the strength of Kannada storytelling and the potential of OTT as a platform for fresh talent.”

KRG Studios Karthik Gowda said: “After the success of Ayyana Mane, director Pradeep suggested doing a web series. We wanted fresh writing, so we brought in Suhas Navarathna, who had earlier worked as a junior writer for The Family Man 2 & 3. Later, director Sunil Mysuru joined. One by one, the whole team came together, and with many people contributing, we built this series. The trailer has received very good feedback. Shodha will start streaming on ZEE5 Global from August 29.”

Actor Pawan Kumar shared: “I had earlier worked on web series ideas in Hindi, but when I suggested the same in Kannada, they often got rejected. So when ZEE5 started doing Kannada web series, I was happy. They asked if I would act in Shodha. After listening to the story, I realized I would get space to experiment with the role. OTT gives us a chance to tell different kinds of stories. I wish ZEE5 Global becomes a big platform for many directors and writers. Shodha has given me that opportunity.”

Produced by KRG Studios, Shodha is directed by Sunil Mysuru. The cast includes Pawan Kumar, Siri Ravikumar, Arun Sagar, and Anusha Ranganath. Written by Suhas Navarathna, the six-episode series promises to be a gripping suspense thriller.

Shodha will be available to watch on Kannada ZEE5 from August 29, 2025.
