Carassauga 2025: Celebrate Multiculturalism in Mississauga

Canada’s largest multicultural festival, Carassauga, will return on May 24th and 25th, 2025 for its 40th year. Mississauga will be transformed with vibrant colours, enticing flavours, and rich traditions from cultures around the world as it hosts 22 cultural pavilions representing 25 countries. This celebration promises an unparalleled experience for attendees, offering a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to explore, learn, and celebrate the diverse fabric of our community.

Highlights of the Festival Include:

40th Anniversary Kick-off Event Begin the celebration with Carassauga’s 40th Anniversary Kick-off Event on Friday, May 2nd, at 7:00 pm at the Small Arms Inspection Building. This event is complimentary for all; however, space is limited so early arrival is recommended.

Kids Zone The festival will offer a variety of family-friendly activities, including games and prizes at our Kids Zone for children of all ages. Pavilion sites will also feature engaging cultural activities. Bring the entire family to create lasting memories together.

Cultural Performances Enjoy the captivating rhythms and movements of traditional dances, mesmerizing music performances, and vibrant cultural showcases across 11 stages featuring a multitude of ethnic backgrounds.

Global Cuisine Delight in an array of delectable dishes from around the globe as the festival’s food vendors present a culinary journey like no other.

Artisan Markets Explore a diverse selection of handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and artworks created by talented artisans representing various cultural traditions. Discover unique treasures while supporting local artisans.

Interactive Workshops Participate in hands-on activities and workshops that provide insights into different cultures, including language lessons, traditional crafts, cooking demonstrations, and more. Broaden your horizons and deepen your understanding of the world.

Event Details: Dates/Times:

  • 40th Anniversary Kick-off Event: Friday, May 2 – 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Festival Day 1: Saturday, May 24 – 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Festival Day 2: Sunday, May 25 – 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
    Location: Various locations across the city, including Paramount Fine Foods Centre (PFFC), Frank
    McKechnie Community Centre, Canadian Coptic Centre, Portuguese Cultural Centre of
    Mississauga and St. Sava Serbian Centre.

Admission: $15; children 12 years and younger are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Transportation: Ride FREE on all MiWay (Mississauga transit system) buses during the festival weekend with your Carassauga Admission Passport. Additionally, Carassauga shuttle bus service
will be available on both days of the festival between all pavilion sites. All MiWay buses are wheelchair accessible.
