City of Brampton to celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Tiger!

The City of Brampton invites the community to celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Tiger, with both in-person and online programming, beginning February 1.  2022 marks the Year of the Tiger – signifying strength, fortune and confidence.

In partnership with the Brampton Chinese Business Association, a temporary public art exhibit will be on display at Daily Times Square outside of City Hall that celebrates Canadian heritage and East Asian culture. The exhibit includes the work of four local artists Abiola IdowuKhaula SiddiqueScott Given and Chris Munusami from February 2 to 14.

Lunar New Year Virtual Celebrations
From February 1-14, the City will host an online celebration for the community to enjoy and learn more about Lunar New Year through video interviews with each artist to share their inspiration and process, and traditional East Asian performances.
