GO TRANSIT GEARS UP FOR RAPTORS CHAMPIONSHIP PARADE

Raptors fans are still rejoicing their team’s historic win at the NBA championship. The celebrations continue on! All the GTA fans have  another chance to party on Monday during the official championship parade and rally.

Unprecedented crowds are expected to gather downtown on Monday to celebrate the Toronto Raptors’ historic NBA championship win. GO Transit is warning customers to plan ahead and prepare for trains and platforms to be far busier than usual.

The Raptors’ championship parade will begin at Exhibition Place at 10 a.m. and will eventually make its way past Union Station toward Nathan Philips Square. This will require a series of full and rolling road closures beginning at 9 a.m. Monday.

Extra GO trains will be available if needed to shuttle fans between Union Station and Exhibition GO. Given the huge number of fans including groups of children (Kids GO Free) expected for this celebration, the “Kawhi-it Zone” will likely be much noisier than usual, so the patience and understanding of all our regular commuting customers is greatly appreciated.

Parade Route & Rally

Starting at Exhibition Place, the parade will culminate with a rally at Nathan Phillips Square that will begin when the procession arrives.

10 a.m. Parade departs Exhibition Place, Princes’ Gates, runs east along Lakeshore Boulevard West, then north on York Street and University Avenue to Queen Street West.

12:30 p.m. Rally at Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen Street West.

Here is all the critical information you need to know if GO Transit or UP Express are your rides to Monday’s parade:

• The Union Station Bus Terminal will remain open and all routes running during the parade.
• For access to Exhibition Station, please check the schedules for Lakeshore West and some Lakeshore East trains.
• Exhibition Station will be extremely busy so the public has the option of joining the parade along the route from Union Station.
• Avoid travelling during morning or afternoon rush hour, if possible.
• Lost children: if you have been separated from your children at Union Station, please contact Toronto Police or check in at Lost & Found in York Concourse. You’ll find uniformed Staff throughout the Station and our Special Constables Officers, should you need their assistance.
