On Friday, October 20th, Mayor  Frank Scarpitti, event host Councillor Logan Kanapathi, Members of Council and community members  celebrated Diwali  at the Armadale Community Centre.

Diwali is the celebration of light over darkness, giving and forgiving, unity, prosperity and progression, and illuminating one’s inner self. Diwali is honoured by over 800 million people in various ways, and is celebrated all over India, regardless of the province, language, culture or region.

There was be a lamp lighting ceremony, special performances and light refreshments were served.
